Thai Tides shows tide times, tide charts, and sunrise and sunset for beaches in Thailand. The app works without an account or login. This page explains the only data we collect — anonymous usage analytics — and how you control it.
Manage analytics
You can turn usage analytics on or off at any time. Turning it off stops tracking and clears the analytics identifier stored in your browser.

What we collect
Tide and sun data work without any tracking. Only if you accept analytics, we use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage data:
- Actions in the app (for example: a beach selected, a search run, tides viewed).
- A randomly generated device identifier stored in your browser.
- Technical details such as browser, operating system, and device type.
We do not collect your name, contact details, account, precise GPS location, or IP address — IP collection is switched off, so no location is derived from it. Saved beaches and preferences stay in your browser (localStorage) and are never sent to us.
Why and on what basis
We use this data to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Our legal basis is your consent under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Analytics never runs before you accept, and you can withdraw consent at any time using the controls above. We also honour your browser’s Do Not Track setting.
Sharing and transfer abroad
Analytics data is processed by Mixpanel, Inc. on servers in the United States, under Mixpanel’s data processing terms. This international transfer takes place on the basis of your consent. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. See Mixpanel’s privacy policy.
Retention
We keep analytics data only as long as it is useful for understanding usage trends. You can delete your analytics identifier at any time by turning analytics off above.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you may access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your data, and withdraw consent. The quickest way to stop processing and remove your identifier is to turn analytics off above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).
